I can't take it anymore

Do any of you live in apartments? please tell me you and your little ones eventually get used to the sounds. First time living in an apartment and the people above us decide every single night to run a zoo up there between 9pm and 2am and constantly wake my kids and startle my baby awake to where he's crying 3 to 4 times a night. it's driving me crazy that none of us are getting any sleep and I'm starting to loose it

Hi mommas! Do you have a significant other to go up there and ask if they can keep it down during the night? I am unfortunately on the third floor and the people below me have hit the ceiling so many times waking up my baby because our floors are really bad and creak every step. Different situations yes but I did try to reach out to my neighbors and they didn't stop so I just kept complaining to my office. i feel like if You explain to them that you have a young baby and try to be kind hopefully they can be more accommodating than my neighbors. Sometimes they don't even realize how loud they are but I hope something works out for you

Yea the hours are strange but sadly apartment life is just annoying in that way. I live on the top floor now because of years of being annoyed by elephants above me. BUT now we are that neighbor with a dog and a 13month old who is a crawling elephant. Downstairs neighbor thumps all day ANY time she crawls. But I don't feel bad…he will wake at 3am slamming doors and yelling profanities at the top of his lungs a lot of the time. Pretty sure he has anger management issues in general. What I don't understand is he has a young daughter who visits sometimes…he's had to have experience with her being a baby once and the noise they make? Idk. Apartment life stinks sometimes, all you can do is politely mention something but doesn't mean they'll listen. Learned that the hard way with our upstairs neighbors back in the day.

Have you tried a white noise machine to help block out some of the sound?

TBH that's just part of apartment living. There's not much you can do about it. You could try talking to them about the noise. If that doesn't work then you could call your landlord/manager about excessive noise after hours.

Make sure you have some strong sound machines going.

I'm so sorry that is rough! I have lived in apartments for 10 years and have sooooo many stories lol. The last one we lived in the people above us stayed up until 4 am even during the week...it sounded like they had a bowling alley up there...no idea what they were doing but it was sooo hard.

Any chance you could switch to an top floor apartment? Moving sucks but to me it'd be worth it here. Best wishes to you.
